Personal Work
2022 in Games Sizzle Reel
A lot of my edits start with the track. I walk about 30 minutes a day and listen to music throughout the walk. This track, “Open Door” by Mike Shinoda, has one line that stuck out to me being “They are not gods, they’re not even apostles”, and I could see Kratos and Atreus from 2018’s God of War featured. Once we got a clearer picture for how crazy 2022 was going to be in gaming, I decided that over winter break in 2021 I wanted to finally make the edit with this song, and I think showcasing God of War: Ragnarok in the middle made for a great anchor of the piece. I loved syncing the hits for SIFU with the drums and bringing The Legend of Zelda next to Horizon Forbidden West to make for a great match cut.
The Last of Us Retrospective
After The Last of Us Part I released, I immediately got the inspiration to make a video combining the two games, now in graphical parody, to make one sweet and somber video, set to my favorite track from Part II, “Ecstasy”.
Being able to cut footage from both games campaigns, totaling around 17 hours, and making a throughline between the two that made sense, was the big challenge for this project. When I found myself tearing up at parts, I knew it was a good one!
“I’m Just an Editor”
I’m also the host of an editing-centric podcast called “The Just an Editor Podcast”, where I interview editors, producers, directors and more about their craft.
Guests on the show include Jeff Ford, editor of the Captain America and Avengers movies, as well as shows on Disney+ like The Falcon and Winter Soldier, Matt Sipple, editor of Amazon’s Invincible Season 1, and David Fisher, editor on HBO’s His Dark Materials.

PS4 Retrospective Trailer
This PS4 Retrospective video was a fun challenge for myself at the end of the Playstation 4 & Xbox One generation of consoles. At the beginning of the generation, Sony released a trailer for the upcoming system showcasing what the generation held in store for them. I immediately fell in love with the song and it would pop up from time to time in my mind. Upon the end of the generation and with the Playstation 5 looming, I decided to take the trailer that they used and replace the video with updated footage showing what the generation would end up being. I took the opportunity to utilize literal and metaphorical match cuts, seen in the Last of Us Part II to Death Stranding transition, and end with a tease towards the Playstation 5.
I'm really pleased with how the video turned out, please check it out.
