Achievement Hunter came to me initially to assist them with edits for a week, creating 3 videos during that week, and have since worked on a contracted as-needed basis. Working with AH has been a pleasure and each video tests my creative editing in new ways, from editing a short sizzle reel to an hour long Lets Play through Premiere’s Multi-Cam editor.
Each of these projects were delivered as a package with the video, thumbnail, metadata/tags and upload to their system and edited in close collaboration with feedback from producers and talent
2022 Achievement Hunter Sizzle Reel
My most recent contract with Achievement Hunter also happens to be my most fun and proudest. I was contacted and asked to make a short “Best of” sizzle to highlight and announce new and existing talent as well as just showcase the most entertaining moments. With multiple videos released daily, you could take a ton of different avenues to show the talent off. Consulting and instituting feedback from producers and talent to make sure we struck the right balance, I feel like we achieved the desired result of a celebratory and exciting video!
Can You Surf on a Table?
This one was super fun. We had about 5 videos recorded on an iPhone at various times and days with the task of trying to string them together to create a thorough storyline. I cut them together to tell the story of all the hijinx the Achievement Hunter crew can get into when they have time on their hands!
Once the fact of trying to figure out what the video was going to actually be, the main hurdle to overcome was the amount of audio sources where one clip has a better audio source but the worse camera angle. Adding subtitles helped alleviate that as well, but I’m happy with the way it came out.
Let’s Play - Back 4 Blood
This is a good example of the longer form Let’s Play content edited for Achievement Hunter. With three camera angles, three gameplay videos and six audio inputs combined, the multi-cam function in Premiere was the trick with this one. Once synchronized, this edit was actually a joy to go through, finding the best angle of any given moment and making sure to cut unnecessary moments while keeping the through-line, this Let’s Play was a fun one.
